I want to point out that every animal humans consume into there stomachs are listed on that list. Pigs, chickens, ducks, cows, sheep, fish, sharks, dolphins, buffalos, alligators, and much much more that humans from different religions eat. Those are all considered animals - but yet I hear and see people call themselves "animal lovers" because they love there cat or dog.
I have to correct you and tell you that you are not a animal lover - you are a pet lover.

"A pet or companion animal is an animal kept primarily for a person's company or protection, as opposed to working animals, sport animals, livestock, and laboratory animals, which are kept primarily for performance, agricultural value, or research. The most popular pets are noted for their attractive appearances and their loyal or playful personalities." - Wikipedia

I understand there is a huge disconnection between animals and people. The cause of that is because we are molded to believe from media and tradition that animals are here for humans to eat. That humans have more value than animals do, that even pets have more value than animals do. I know you see the stories of men and women going to prision for abuse of dogs, sex with dogs, breeding dogs, and killing dogs... etc and yes a dog is an animal of course but my point is so are the other animals that are being slaughted every day that are clearly ignored. They don't get any justice? Why not? They are listed as an animals and you call yourself an animal lover ? So why eat those animals? You can't love animals yet buy your meat at the market and cook there raw flesh to feed yourself and your family... No way can that work!

All animals have feelings and feel emotion, they all have companionship towards one another. Just as your dog or cat loves being pet, getting rewarded, feeling loved all animals feel that same emotion and desire that same affection. So please next time you want to consider yourself an animal lover - think about what you are saying and if your actions match that statement. If you do love animals take the steps into a vegan lifestyle, no harm to animals. standing for all animals to have the right to live. I promise it is the best thing you will ever do for yourself, the animals you love, and the planet we live in. Because the truth is this is there planet just as much as it is ours and they have the same amount of value as all living things do.
