My most important tip is to TAKE YOUR TIME! Deciding you want to be Vegan within minutes is totally fine that just means something you saw or read got to you. But once you have commited to this change take your time with the whole process it can be overwhelming at first.

Educate yourself!

Documentaries I watched in this order are...

- Kalel "Why I am Vegan and how you can be too"

- Behind Glass Walls

- Best speech you will ever hear by Gary Yourofsky

-101 reasons to go Vegan

-Beyond Carnism and Toward Rational, Authentic Food Choices,’ Dr. Melanie Joy

-Earthlings

-Cowspiracy

Get your ass in the kitchen!

Start cooking and experimenting with recipes. A youtube channel and blog that I love and highly recommend is hotforfoods. CHECK THEM OUT!

Know that you can get your fix!

There is a replacement for anything and everything! There is soy icecream, coconut bacon flakes, meatless chicken, bean burgers, vegan butter, vegan nacho chees....seriously everything can be made vegan. But the fun part is to make things from scratch your self. See what works and just try it out!

The first two weeks me and Joey tried a different recipe almost every night. We loved going to the store and getting our ingridents, cooking it up in the kitchen, and seeing the difference there is without meat or dairy. It was especailly fun seeing how much he enjoyed things without meat :) HIS FAVORITE meal is vegan artichoke cakes. I have a recipe in my blog if you want to make them.

Stay Hydrated!

This is SO important is to stay hydrated! I got really bad head aches from not drinking enough water through out the day. I am a heavy water drinker I never really drink soda or juice maybe twice a month if that, I always have water in my hand. It still wasn't enough so I increased my water majorily.

Know that people will question you!

Everyone will ask you questions when they find out you "dont eat meat"! You will get called a lot of different things some may be just tessing and no harm to it but others may really be bothered by it and feel judged from you.

My favorite memorable names & questions are the following: are you a meat hater or something, here comes the meat police, vegetable have feelings too ya know, where do you get your protein, but dont you crave cheese, and enjoy your plate of lettuce. LOVELY RIGHT?

At first I always responded harshly to these remarks or questions in the beginning until one day I just stopped all together and now I just smile, I can totally pick up a conversation with somone about veganism who is open minded and friendly but those who I can feel and hear the tone coming from a negative place. I know I won't be able to get through to them. At least not yet.

So just stay calm, take a deep breathe, and smile at them. If you feel confident enough to speak your mind then GO FOR IT! But in my experience with that it lead to me crying my eyes out and couldn't get a word out that I wanted too which later I found out was normal LOL

Know that you are making a difference!
