WHY FREE RANGE IS BULLSHIT
A lot of people have this idea in there head that “free range” chickens are roaming around in the sunshine all day and get put down peacefully when there time is right, that they will not be submitted to any pain or suffering. Sadly that is far from being the truth.

Hens life span is 10-16 years but most hens are sent for slaughter after 1-2 years of living.
Hens in free range farms are debeaked with a hot blade with no anesthetic so they can’t peek at each other, force molted which means they are intentionally starved to shock the body into another laying cycle, packed into a shedfull of 100,000 other birds with just a few inches of sunlight peeking through the bottom of the shed (which FSIS considers free range if they have access to a door that leads to outside air), denied the opportunity to live in a natural life, all roosters killed as baby chicks simply because they can’t lay eggs and are too small to breed for meat , they suffer from the same lung lesions and ammonia burns as hens in battery cages suffer.
Battery cages are metal cages that 5-10 birds are crammed into to lay eggs. Picture below of battery cages full of hens.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) requires that chickens raised for their meat have access to the outside in order to receive the free-range certification. There is no requirement for access to pasture, and there may be access to only dirt or gravel. Free-range chicken eggs, however, have no legal definition in the United States. Likewise, free-range egg producers have no common standard on what the term means. Many egg farmers sell their eggs as free range merely because their cages are two or three inches above average size, or because there is a window in the shed.

Same goes for cows. There is no such thing as a humane slaughter. Organically raised cows are sent to crowded factory farm feedlots where they are fattened up prior to slaughter, they are kept in filthy sheds full of feces and mud sitting in their own waste, they are raped yearly for pregnancies by having a metal rod or sometimes a human hand shoved up there vagina with bull semen just to have their babies taken away from them from minutes after birth. Cows udders become infected from frequently milking which causes pain that cant be treated with antiobotics because medicated animals lose their “organic” status.
There is no difference between free range and slaughter houses. Dairy and meat industries want to paint us a pretty little picture of happy cows smiling, and chickens laughing and that if you want to be healthy you need to eat Organic animal products. It is a label, a very false label. No animal is happy to die. Animals are meant to survive just as humans are. The first step into not contributing to this suffering is to have an open mind. stop making excuses, stop justfying, and really get educated on what the media is telling you. Because I can tell you from what I have seen no cows are smiling. and no chickens are happy.
